This practical course helps us reframe our thought and emotional patterns so that we can gain insight into our own functioning with greater awareness. The curriculum consists of a series of simple exercises that move beyond personal stories and address human existence and its complexities with a much higher level of awareness.

But why Azerbaijan, of all places?

The courses usually take place in a closed setting, in a classroom where only the exercises provide the experience. You can sense it, it becomes tangible, it brings insight—but it doesn’t provide a true test or challenge! That’s why I came up with the idea of a hands-on training program where we put what we’ve learned to the test in our everyday lives. A six-day course where we’re together, and through guided exercises, I can show you the multifaceted nature of a single reality. And on top of that, all of this takes place in the midst of a travel experience!

But I still haven't answered the question: Why Azerbaijan, of all places?

On the one hand, where else could I pass on the spiritual essence of traditional Russian medicine if not in the Caucasus? On the other hand, because during my stay there, I found that I myself can resonate much more easily with my higher consciousness than I can here at home or in Europe. Azerbaijan is a journey through time. We’ll go back about 40 years in time, even though everything is technically available to us there as well. And yet! Nowhere else have I encountered such openness, connection, and acceptance as I did there. I encountered life itself. My consciousness—nor anyone else’s—was obscured by that intense virtual smog that typically characterizes the mind’s semi-awake or fully asleep state. It does not conjure visions or weave yet another veil of illusion over reality—it is easier to contrast presence with a different kind of perception, to experience a breakthrough in consciousness.

Location: Azerbaijan

Program duration: 8 days

The program dates and registration fee are still being finalized—please fill out the form below, and I'll send them to you by email as soon as they're confirmed.

The registration fee includes: lodging + breakfast, excursions, and bus fare.

The participation fee does not include: airfare, visas, admission tickets, or meals.

Number of participants: At least 15 people

Max: 25 people

I look forward to hearing from applicants!

Detailed Program Description

Day 1: Departure from Budapest at 10:20 p.m.

Day 2: Arrival in Baku at 3:50 a.m. local time. We’ll continue on immediately; we still have about a 3-hour bus ride ahead of us to the Caucasus, in the Quba region. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our accommodations. After a short rest, some currency exchange, and a brief opening ceremony, we’ll begin the course. Dinner will be at the hotel or at a nearby forest restaurant.

Day 3: We’ll start the day with meditation and continue the course. In the early afternoon, we’ll head to another part of the Caucasus—Sahdag—where, in picturesque surroundings, we’ll have the chance to see the waterfalls, enjoy some tea, and, for those who’d like to, ride the cable car or go bobsledding.

Day 4: After our early morning meditation and breakfast, we’ll set out for Xinaliq, a nomadic village in the Caucasus at an elevation of 2,300 meters. Here, we’ll have the opportunity to explore a nature reserve—a roughly 4-kilometer hike—that tourists very rarely get to visit. During our May trip, we were the first Hungarian group to be allowed into this otherwise strictly guarded area. After the bus tour, we’ll have dinner with a local family and visit the local mosque.

Day 5: After our morning meditation and breakfast, we set off for Baku. On the way, we’ll stop at Mount Beshbarmaq, also known as Five Fingers Mountain. The mountain’s energy is magical; we can climb the stairs to the top, where there’s a small local mosque. Continuing our bus ride toward Baku, we’ll check out Candy Cane Mountain, also known as the „Candy Mountains.” In Baku, we’ll check into our accommodations at the Sah Palace Hotel, located in the Old Town.

Day 6: After breakfast, we’ll check out of our accommodation and begin our tour, visiting the main attractions. We’ll start at the Bibi Heybet Mosque, followed by the Gobustan rock carvings (15 Azn admission fee), the Burning Hill, and then the mud volcanoes (itinerary subject to weather conditions). The evening is free, and dinner is on your own.

Day 7: After our morning meditation, our first stop will be Atesgah—the Temple of Fire (10 Azn admission fee)—followed by a walk of about 2 km along the coast on the Sah Dili Peninsula in the National Park. Afterward, free time in Baku.

Day 8: We check out of our accommodations and visit a local market in Baku; lunch; free time. In the evening, we take panoramic photos of Baku at night and head to the airport.

Day 9: The flight departs at 4:50 a.m. and arrives in Budapest at 7:00 a.m.

About the Course

I’m preparing a workbook in which I’ve compiled a series of exercises that provide a basic reflection and theme for each day. The goal of this practical course is to strengthen a contemplative outlook and meditation in action, as well as to foster mindful awareness of different levels of consciousness.

Course Structure: We begin each day with a „centering” exercise and a tuning-in session, and the question raised within the given topic will be the focus of our reflection. The exercise lasts all day, is interactive, and requires mindful togetherness; depending on where we have the opportunity, we’ll meditate and discuss the topic at hand. We’ll have the best opportunity for this at our lodging in the Caucasus and amid the energy of the mountains, but the fast-paced activities in Baku also offer a fantastic chance to „see reality differently.”.

A brief recap of the May hike…

It was a fantastic experience! At least, that’s the conclusion I drew from the stories and the shared experiences. It was fascinating to see how life unfolded, leading everyone to individual and collective experiences. I feel that the many impressions still need time to settle, and I trust that everyone will gain a clear picture of how they personally experienced things and what insights they can take away for themselves. The experience was so sharply contrasting— with these parallel experiences unfolding simultaneously, that it inevitably pitted spiritual pathos against worldly reality, the balance between the lower and the higher realms, and the power of the subconscious and its countless reflections projected onto the present moment. However, if someone can unravel this and put it in its proper place—this realization, this separation at the level of consciousness—it can provide a lifelong insight into their own functioning. This clear vision possesses a formative power capable of rewriting and rearranging everything within the person experiencing it. Here are a few photos…

Experience Reports

”I just haven’t been able to get angry since then. Everything feels so different now. It’s been two weeks since then; I’ve even been to Switzerland in the meantime, and it hasn’t subsided at all—I feel the freedom this has brought me, and ever since then, these stories have been finding me, no matter where I go. On top of that, everyone suddenly wants to see me—I don’t even understand it—little lonely Angi can’t find any time for herself because her friends are pulling her in every direction :) So, Mária, I have nothing but good memories of the trip; I tell everyone about my experiences with total enthusiasm. I don’t regret a thing, and I’m very grateful—to you, to myself, and to the whole team. P.S. The night before last, I went for a walk alone, just outside the gates of our lodging. Even then, I realized that while after Bali I said I’d never go back there again, I’d be happy to return here anytime. ” Angi Veres

I’ve always lived by the belief that anything is possible. The term „Russian” was part of my search. I wanted to learn the „how.”It was through this different way of seeing that I came into contact with Mária. The virtual space where “everything is possible” opened up for me through this different way of seeing, becoming a real possibility, a real potential. Seeing differently in another world happens quickly and powerfully. With a different perspective, being in a group, staying together throughout, while remaining true to ourselves the whole time. A boundless experience, a boundless feeling. Through the practices of centering, that independence—which is truly and inherently healing—was brought to fulfillment. Nagyon hálás vagyok Máriának, finoman, alázatosan segítő, támogató lényének, hogy ezt átélhettem és élhetem. Valóban „másképp látom” a világot.

An eight-day practical course in Azerbaijan: exercises in seeing differently amid the mountains of the Greater Caucasus, combined with a travel experience.

["post-117","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
